ThsThe 18 members of the German Bat Observatory e.V., which was founded in the summer of 2018 by bat experts from several federal states from the fields of science, voluntary work and professional nature conservation, met in Berlin’s Spandau Citadel in April of this year. Since its foundation, Dr. Marcus Fritze (Saxony-Anhalt) has held the chairmanship, alongside his deputy Dr. Nicole Starik (Berlin) and treasurer Brigitte Kaltofen (Berlin). At the beginning of 2024, Fritze announced that he no longer wished to run for the Executive Board for professional and personal reasons. Thus, Dr. Nicole Starik was elected as chairperson at the general meeting on 28.04.24 in the Zitadelle Spandau. Florian Gloza-Rausch (Schleswig Holstein) was elected as the second chairperson and Brigitte Kaltofen was confirmed in office. The members of the German Bat Observatory wish their board continued success in the interests of bat conservation!
